Anything that puts the Bank at risk.

The Whistleblower Policy covers NDB board members, management, employees, volunteers, temporary staff and related parties. Customers, suppliers and members of the public can also use this page to raise a concern.

  • Accounting & financeFraud or deliberate errors in financial statements or records, weak internal controls, misleading the auditors.
  • Lending & creditFraud in loan assessment or approval, false inspection or valuation reports, ignoring lending policy.
  • Asset management & recoveriesCollusion with bidders on mortgagee sales, leaking inside information, bribes or kickbacks.
  • PropertyFraud or errors in buying, managing or selling NDB properties, or in the property register.
  • IT & electronic bankingFraud in buying or running NDB systems, or tampering with system records.
  • Human resourcesFraud in recruitment or staff records, or breaches of HR controls.
  • Governance, risk & complianceBreaking laws or NDB policies, unethical conduct, breaches of the Code of Conduct.

  1. We log and assess itThe Manager Internal Audit records every report in a confidential log and assesses how serious and urgent it is.
  2. We investigateFindings and recommendations go to Executive Management, the CEO and the Board Audit Committee, who decide what action to take.
  3. We protect youYour identity stays confidential. Reporting doesn’t excuse anyone’s own part in wrongdoing, but honest reporting is never punished.
