Mr Tosali was appointed as Secretary for the Department of Treasury on the 11 th of April 2005 after acting on the position since June 2004. From June 2004 to present, Mr Tosali has been representing the State on various organizations; he is currently the Chairman of the MRDC Board, and the Deputy Chairman on the Central Agencies Coordination Committee (CACC), a committee that screens all submissions and provides recommendations to the National Executive Council. He is also a member on the Boards of OTML, Air Niugini, IPBC, as well as the Alternate Governor representing PNG on the Boards of the Asian Development Bank and the World Bank. Prior to that, he was the Deputy Secretary for Policy and chaired the Public Expenditure Review and Rationalization Committee (PERRIC) which was involved in the Government’s public sector reform program. He was also the Chairman of the Public Debt Committee (PDC) whose role was to set ceilings and manage cash and monthly expenditures by the departments/agencies. Mr Tosali led various technical teams to high-level talks with our development partners, including the leading of the PNG Government’s technical team in the negotiations and formulation of both the IMF and the World Bank programs.
