NDB SUPPORTS PNG COFFEE FESTIVAL 2008

The National Development Bank is proud to be a Green Gold sponsor of the PNG Coffee Festival 2008 to be held on April 10 th - 12 th 2008.

Our participation in the festival is significant in that since inception of the bank, we’ve been supporting the rural population in funding agricultural projects like coffee growing.

Papua New Guinea has great potential in growing and exporting coffee overseas and it is our firm belief that such a festival is not only a time of celebration in the coffee industry but that it provides an opportunity for all sectors of the community to appreciate that coffee growing is one of the avenues through which our small people can contribute meaningfully to the economic development of our country.

NDB will continue to provide support where it can for the mutual benefit of both the rural coffee growing population and organizations in the coffee industry and that we look forward to maintaining and strengthening our long-term business relationship.

We are still waiting for the release of NADP funds to NDB so we can commence lending under NADP to rehabilitate run down coffee plantations and also invest in the development of new coffee mills and expand existing coffee mills under the NADP intervention for coffee.

We hope that the sponsorship of K10, 000.00, will assist the festival committee to host yet another successful festival this year.
