NDB SUPPORTS PACIFIC TUNA CONFERENCE - 2nd August 2007

The National Development Bank is proud to be bronze sponsors of the Pacific Tuna Conference to be hosted by the National Fisheries Authority on September 12 - 13, 2007.

We have in place a K5 million Fisheries Credit Facility Scheme which is a joint initiative of both the National Development Bank and the National Fisheries Authority that was launched in January this year

Of the K5 million, K600, 000 has been disbursed to fishermen in the Morobe Province under the Pump Boat Program and we are pleased to inform NFA that this arrangement is progressing well.

We are also looking at lending an additional K1.7 million in the coming weeks under this facility.

NDB will continue to provide support where it can for the mutual benefit of both our organizations and we look forward to maintaining and strengthening our long-term business relationship.

We hope that our small contribution of K5, 000 will assist NFA in staging a successful conference.
